The Western Forest
What it is
A region the map has hardly entered: a target of fifteen to thirty places, of which one, the Starfall Clearing, is written. LOCATIONS.md
Where
West of the castle. Beyond the clearing: the Monkey Trace Archive, the Tiger Substrate, and the Hedge-Thought Labyrinth eleven kilometres further west. research/world-census/LORE-DIGEST-2026-09-02.md
When
Déjà vu arrives every forty-seven steps in the labyrinth. research/world-census/LORE-DIGEST-2026-09-02.md
With
The Third Astronomer built the meteor cairn in the clearing and works from it. LOCATIONS.md, research/world-census/LORE-DIGEST-2026-09-02.md
- weather
Meteors, more often than probability allows. The clearing is crater-pocked, its soil fused to glass, its ground seeded with star-iron. LOCATIONS.md
- sound
The cairn hums at 528 Hz on clear nights, seven layers of star-iron resonating as the wind passes the gaps. research/world-census/LORE-DIGEST-2026-09-02.md
- fauna
The Monkey Trace Archive and the Tiger Substrate are named for animals nobody has yet written down here. research/world-census/LORE-DIGEST-2026-09-02.md
- altitude
Ground level, rising west toward the labyrinth. research/world-census/LORE-DIGEST-2026-09-02.md
