She was in a car with her family, trying to leave. Her fifteen-year-old cousin Layan
spoke to Hind's mother and said that they were both hurt. Then the shooting. Hind stayed
on the phone with her mother, gunfire behind her voice, and told her she had been shot.
The call went on until around seven in the evening, when Hind stopped talking.
A Red Crescent ambulance was sent for her. It was shelled. The two paramedics inside
were found twelve days later.
The Commission found the 401st Brigade, under the 162nd Division, responsible, and found
that they deliberately frustrated the medical rescue of Hind by shelling the ambulance.
